The NCLC 7 advantage

Why French matters for your PR

Canada runs Express Entry rounds that only invite candidates with strong French. To qualify, you need a TEF Canada or TCF Canada result at NCLC 7 or higher in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Through 2026, French-language rounds have generally invited candidates with CRS scores roughly 100 points lower than the general Canadian Experience Class rounds. On top of that, NCLC 7 in French earns additional CRS points: 50 if your English is CLB 5 or higher, 25 otherwise.

For many applicants in Toronto, reaching NCLC 7 in French is the most realistic way to raise their chances of an invitation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are all classes online?
Yes. Every class is live on video with a real teacher, so you can join from Toronto, the GTA or anywhere in Canada. There is no classroom to commute to, and class materials and homework are shared online.
How long does it take to reach NCLC 7?
It depends on your starting point and how many hours you study each week. As a rough guide, a complete beginner studying consistently usually needs well over a year to reach a B2 / NCLC 7 level, while a learner who already has a solid B1 can often get there in a few months of focused exam training. We give you a personal estimate after your free level check.
Who are your teachers?
Our teachers are experienced French teachers who speak both French and English and specialize in adult learners preparing for TEF Canada and TCF Canada. Each teacher follows the same course plan and exam criteria, so your progress does not depend on who teaches a given session.
Do you prepare for TEF Canada or TCF Canada?
Both. The two tests are accepted by IRCC and use the same NCLC scale, but the task types differ. We train you on the format of the test you choose, and help you decide if you have not picked one yet.
How much do classes cost?
Pricing depends on the format (group or private) and the number of hours per week. Contact us or book a free level check and we will send you the current fees and payment options.
What happens in the free level check?
A 20-minute video call. We ask a few questions in French and English, look at your goal and deadline, and recommend a level, a format and a weekly schedule. There is no obligation to enrol.
